Guardians of the Galaxy, non-spoiler review!

Hello darlings and today I'll just let you know how much I enjoyed the new marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy starring Chris Pratt, Zoë Saldana, Dave Batista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. The most anticipated movie of the summer exceeded my expectations, and to be quite honest, it IS THE summer movie favorite. Loved each character of the amazing outlaws, and the actors have a fantastic chemistry that you can't stop smiling about and laughing of course during the whole movie. The plot is of course saving the galaxy, but the way they did it is the thing that will have you hooked. Please do yourself a favor and watch this A+ movie. NOW. Until the next post lovelies!

Divergent: Book vs. Movie! (Spoilers!)

After three weeks of its premiere in Puerto Rico, I finally watched the film version of Divergent. I finished the book the same week the movie premiered so I was happy I could watch the movie and compare it with the book. Before the comparison, (that obviously contains spoilers), I'll let you know, lovely reader, that if you are a The Hunger Games fan or The Mortal Instruments books' fan, you'll love the film! Shailene Woodley who played Tris Prior, our heroine, was excellent and she flawlessly acted out the most emotional scenes from the book. Don't get me started on Theo James' portrayal of Four, it was like if he was literally taken out of the book.

There were some changes in the movie from the book, but they weren't drastic and it was understandable not to have them on the movie, because nothing changed. It is like if you just have seen the movie and not read the book, you didn't miss on the most important things, but like always the book will help you understand the movie so much better, because there were scenes like the tattoo that she wanted the birds on her collarbone, but those have a meaning behind it. Peter played by Miles Teller was incredibly good too! He was like I pictured him. In the book, he is a much more cruel guy, but in the movie we do see his bad intentions and how he obviously envies Tris for her abilities. The scene where Al, Peter and two more guys tried to kill Tris was how I imagined it, and Four rescuing her was perfect! Plus, the scene where Al asks for Tris' forgiveness and she screams at him that he is a coward, and tears up, Shai, two thumbs up! Don't get me started on her parents' death, in where I started crying like an idiot, because I also cried while reading the book, yes, Shai is the perfect Tris, end of discussion.

Referring to the movie's visuals.... they were absolutely stunning! After Four and Tris faced Four's fears, that morning after the kiss, where the sun hits her face and the room is illuminated with happiness, I loved how everything looked. The control rooms where the Erudite worked were also pretty cool, the train scenes where the Dauntless jumped out of were really badass, the fighting scene between the hypnotized Four and Tris was actually pretty awesome despite the fact I was so anxious that he had to realize he was killing her and when she pointed the gun to herself screaming that it was okay and that she loved him, (even though in the book she says she loves him in the ending) it was amazing how heartwrenching was to see that she would give her life even if her love was long gone, and it was the only way to make him realize. In the music area, I have listened to the soundtrack before watching the movie and I loved it, and in the movie, it was integrated so well, in particular the song called "Run Boy Run" during the train scene! Also the Ellie Goulding songs, like Hanging On and Dead in The Water... I was emotional, since she is one of my favorite singers, heck my favorite singer and for her songs to be featured in the movie, I was proud.

I rate the movie 9/10, because it did justice to the book and I'm literally anticipating the time when the DVD comes out, because I want to watch the movie so many times! Thanks Neil Burger! If you haven't seen the movie, please do before it's out of the movie theaters or when it comes in stores, please do!

Thank you lovelies! Here is the trailer:

Movie Rec: The Royal Tenenbaums + Non-Stop!

Bonjour to you all my dear readers!
Here is my movie recs of the last two weeks, I've been busy of course, I'm a college student and I wish I could spend my days watching movies and writing about them so you can enjoy them as much as I do, or even more!

One week ago, I finally found a link to watch The Royal Tenenbaums. It all started when I went to Best Buy to find movies, and I was thinking of buying at the moment one, because let's face it, I'm low in the budget, but I went and walked through the isles until I spotted Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore DVD's and I was, "Oh, I haven't seen these? WHY?" I saw the price, and I almost had a heart attack, because they were each $30.00 and in Blu-ray, and of course, I was so sad, in the end, I didn't buy anything. Obviously, I picked up my Surface and found a link to watch The Royal Tenenbaums; I've seen Moonrise Kingdom, so I really liked Wes Anderson's work already, (THIS MOVIE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, PLEASE DO.)

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Gene Hackman, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson and Anjelica Houston, and it's about this unique family, where its composed of the parents Ethelene and Royal with their three children, Margot, Richie and Chas, who are practically geniuses and come together after their father (Royal) announces he has a terminal illness. I practically fell in love with everything this movie presented, because Wes Anderson's movies have this sort of unique feel, at least with the ones I've seen, STILL need to watch Rushmore, but generally his movies have a really vintage, heart-warming and romantic feel that you can't just shake of, you practically feel so attached to the intrigue in the film, you root for whatever is happening in each scene. This movie in particular is heart-warming, funny, the photography (just like in all of his films) are truly amazing and mouth-opening, because it is a pretty film. My favorite character is Margot Tenenbaum, because she's this cool chick, who every girl wants to be, making her own rules, free-spirited and independent, she of course, feels a bit empty, but through the movie, she knows what she's been missing and it was right under her nose. I'm trying not to spoil anything, but I also love Richie, A LOT, (young Luke Wilson is one of my never-ending crushes), but trust me, you'll adore this family's adventures, so hope you enjoy it! Also, forgot to mention, that Bill Murray always is in his films, and if you didn't know much about him, or you really don't like him that much, trust me that you'll love his roles in Anderson's movies, because he's simply a genius actor.

This year, there will be a new Wes Anderson called The Grand Budapest Hotel starring Ralph Fiennes, Saoirse Ronan and much more, and it is filled with adventures, I'm so excited to watch it already so here's the trailer:

Yesterday, I went to the cinema and I really wanted to see The Wind Rises, but I couldn't because my nearby movie theater didn't brought it, so I was like "What now?" so I noticed that Non-Stop was and its cast, and a movie starring Liam Neeson is bound to be likeable, because come on! This man! It also starred Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery (from Downton Abbey), Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave, not a big role, but still). It is a suspense-thriller where Bill Marks receives various death threats via text messages putting in danger the lives of 150 passengers in a plane from New York to London. The movie reminded me of the suspense the movie Argo had, my brothers, a close friend and I were at the edge of the seat with our mouths opened at every scene and every revelation the movie throwed at us, truly taking us by surprise each minute. I didn't think I would like it a lot, but I did, I think I like those movies who really put us at a tension and then at the end, it was all worth it suffering for the characters. So here I'll leave you the trailer for you to decide to go to the cinema, and have it on consideration!

Movie review: Endless Love (No spoilers, I promise).

I went out with one of my closest friends to watch Endless Love, and I was really scared about the outcome of us watching it. Even my mom warned me about Franco Zeffirelli's movie of the same name, which had a tragic ending, and I really hate romantic movies with a sad plot. The only thing I had in my mind was "Please don't be a movie I would regret watching." The only person I knew and that I loved about the movie was Alex Pettyfer. I knew a bit of his romantic side, because I've seen Beastly and I've also read the book of the same name, which I REALLY recommend, because it is sooooo good. The rest of the cast is totally new people I've seen for the first time, but they were good and they really complemented each other. Even though it is a movie full of clichés, guys FULL OF CLICHÉS, I really liked it. It surprised me, because I really hate those generic movies Hollywood makes for the sake of the holiday, which you know we are in February so couple love would be the important element during this time. There were a lot of favorite things among these: some shots of different scenes like the airport, the zoo scene and the last scene, which I won't spoil I promise for those of you who haven't seen it. THE SOUNDTRACK: it is lovely, I think I'll download it soon, because I liked a lot of songs featured in it and later I'll make a review of it. There's some element of surprise in the movie that will leave your mouth open for a while, but apart from that you won't regret spending your money in the cinema. In conclusion, if you're looking for another good romantic movie to watch, here's a good one to add on your list.

Movie Recommendations: Valentine's Day Edition!

Bonjour! And Happy Valentine's to you lovely people out there! Well, my friends and I were having a conversation earlier this week about movies that should be vital to watch, and more if they are romantic, or romantic comedies, so I'm going to write a list of my all-time favorite romantic movies I'll recommend you to watch during the coming up Valentine's weekend!

Top Favorites:

Crazy, Stupid, Love
Reasons to watch: The cast is freaking perfect! Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell, I mean who more do you need.
10 Things I Hate About You
Reasons to watch: Watch how Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon Levitt steal your heart. Do yourself a favor and watch this movie if you haven't had the chance.
Leap Year
Reasons to watch: Amy Adams quirky and funny side! And then the romance with Matthew Goode... if you love Irish men, you'll adore this film.
Pride and Prejudice (2005)
Reasons to watch: Period dramas, and if you love Jane Austen's masterpiece, a novel with the same name, you'll adore this movie. The scenography and photography in this movie are insane. Joe Wright is one of my favorite directors, and I love how the little details in his movies are the most important elements within the story of the film. He does it beautifully.
Roman Holiday
Reasons to watch: A CLASSIC! Gregory Peck and the immortal, Audrey Hepburn! A journalist who falls for the princess, a forbidden love that will capture your heart!
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Reasons to watch: THIS LOVE STORY, #NEVERFORGET, and the of course, oh so lovely Audrey Hepburn in the movie that made her the famous fashion icon.
Romantics Anonymous
Reasons to watch: A really cute French movie about these two really shy people who share a passionate love for chocolate and how they cope with their problem to interact with people through love.
Emma (1995)
Reasons to watch: If you like period dramas (again), you'll love this adaptation of the classic story, Emma by Jane Austen in where we get to see Gwyneth Paltrow portray a really fantastic role of Emma and the love story with Mr. Knightley, this is such a romantic and cliché movie, but you'll fall in love with it so bad.
Amelie
Reasons to watch: This is a really well known French romantic comedy starring Audrey Tatou. This movie is really quirky and fun to watch! I really need you to watch this movie please, if you haven't watched it.
The Proposal
Reasons to watch: Sandra Bullocks' and Ryan Reynolds's comedic genius + a love story, please this is a must watch. No more to say.
Love Actually
Reasons to watch: The cast is flawless, it is a British love/comedy/drama film with multiple stories that relate to one another, with the acting of Liam Neesom, Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley, and much more. Seriously, one of my top favorites.
Elizabethtown
Reasons to watch: Kirsten Dunst in my opinion, is the queen of romantic and quirky movies. Orlando Bloom is the protagonist of this story, but without Kirsten's character to spice up his life, we seriously don't have a love story. And yes, it is one of my favorite movies ever. It's pretty much about finding love, to be loved and to look for confidence kind of movie.
A Walk to Remember
Also a classic, Mandy Moore and Shane West's ultimate best couple ever! A true love's story in which the main character is diagnosed with cancer and she warns him to not fall in love with her, but of course he does. Perfect love story.
Silver Linings Playbook
Reasons to watch: This movie is just how love grew between these two people who are coping with troubles within and things that have happened in their life, that with each other's help, they find love. Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar winning performance along with Bradley Cooper's extraordinary portrayal really enamour you.
He's just not that into you
Reasons to watch: So many great actors in this movie, and the stories aren't all necessarily about love, but there are so many life lessons to take as advice. Favorite couple in the movie is Ginnifer Goodwin and Justin Long's characters.
Win a date with Tad Hamilton
Reasons to watch: Topher Grace's ability to make your heart melt. Topher and Kate Bosworth's chemistry is so sweet and charming, you can't resist. I love the scene where he confesses to her, but I won't spoil it for you, so must watch.
My Week with Marilyn
Reasons to watch: Eddie Redmayne's Colin that falls for Michelle William's Marilyn Monroe. You'll fall for him, because he loved Marilyn with this quiet passion and even though he's young, he really has this mature love for her. How he truly cared for Marilyn's well being. Just watch this movie, he is the romance in it.

Romantic Independent film favorites:

Lost in Translation
Reason to watch: Scarlett Johansson and Bill Murray's chemistry and acting in this movie! I would watch this movie a hundred times and never get tired of it.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind:
Reason to watch: Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet's chemistry is off the charts, and the plot of this story is so original and captivating, I fell in love right away! Mark Ruffalo and Kirsten Dunst are also in the film (two of my favorite actors).
The Giant Mechanical Man
Reasons to watch: THIS FILM. Jenna Fischer is one of my many favorite actresses, and in this indie film, the photography is orgasmic. The main couple is so adorable, it is about standing up for yourself and have confidence, to feel loved and to be loved. The romance is pretty realistic. A must watch.
Drinking Buddies
Reasons to watch: JAKE JOHNSON, okay and Olivia Wilde. This relationship is so immature, but so beautifully portrayed in this movie. I think this is the best summary, lol. You will see how this relationship is stuck in time, in which both of these people don't really see what they are feeling.
Safety Not Guaranteed
This movie isn't in my ultimate favorites, but it is worth a mention, because it is a unique love story, in where Aubrey Plaza just decides to believe in this guy who has been working on this time machine, where she just goes with the flow and falls for him. Pretty good! We see a different kinds of relationships and human phases in it, we can relate to any of these.

So comment below if you have any romantic film favorites, and enjoy this list that is only for you. Happy Valentine's day!
