Big Hero 6: Film Review!

Hello lovelies and today I have a film I need to rave on about, because I fell in love with it as I usually do with everything, but here's why.
Last night, I just decided to watch it, because I felt like I needed to watch a film, like since Whiplash early this January was the last movie I truly got into and obsessed about and I was like, wow, I need a new movie to love. So Big Hero 6 definitely owns a special place in my heart now. Tadashi, Hiro and Baymax are my new favorite characters, as well as Gogo, Wasabi, Fred & Honey Lemon.

I didn't expect most of the things that happened in the movie. I just knew about the special bond Hiro & Baymax had, according to some trailers I saw before watching the movie, and that's it. When I saw that Tadashi went to save his professor and then building exploded after the science showcase right in front of Hiro's eyes, I went ballistic. He didn't have his parents! He only had his brother, who helped him find a purpose in life and then, HE DIES. HAHAHAHA. I'M FINE. I just cried like an idiot when that happened. But before his death, Tadashi just seriously wanted to help people in any way he could and that's how he invented Baymax. That big white blob that loves to hug was like the most amazing character of all, he literally wanted Hiro to feel as happy as he needed and wanted to make all of Hero's desires to come true so his health could improve. GUYS THIS MOVIE MADE ME HAVE THE FEELS.

The movie felt like it had this perfect timing for everything, when Baymax appeared to help Hiro know about the truth about Tadashi and Callaghan as well as help his friends become new heroes. I enjoyed the film so much, because it is heartwarming, really complex yet sweet and focuses on friendship and caring about others, saving lives and just the cuteness of it, makes the movie special. Hope you get the chance to see it (do it now!) and see you until the next post where I talk about my beauty favorites!

Film starter pack for 2015!

Happy New Year lovelies! My first 2015 post in the first day of this promising new year. You know what a new year means right?
Award season and NEW MOVIES. I really can't wait for new movies to come out and for me to live in the cinema for a while.

So before the year ended, I watched a couple of movies that really clicked with me and that you have to check out if you hadn't.

First it's an indie film that Netflix is currently streaming. It's called In Your Eyes (2014) starring Zoe Kazan, you may know her from Ruby Sparks (2012), she is definitely the queen of indie romantic films. I adore independent films, because they have these experimental elements and unique plots that may or not charm you. You either love or hate these types of films. In this case, the movie, written by Joss Whedon had a unique plot and it's enchanting really. The two lovers have a telepathic power which they can see each other and feel what the other feels the instant they click. I loved it and I feel that's a movie that you can sit on your couch, pop some popcorn and go along with the unique romantic relationship that you'll adore.

Another Zoe Kazan movie I watched recently was the one she starred along Daniel Radcliffe and Adam Driver called What If (2014). I liked it a lot. It's your typical, young adult movie which the girl has a boyfriend, and the main love interest has no other option, but just to stay friends with his crush. The story just takes you to the insights of these adorable relationships and friendships. Also a stay-in your house movie that you can enjoy with friends or yourself. I enjoyed Radcliffe's humor so much, I mean he's just a comedic genius. I'd love to see him in more romcoms, please @god.

Last, but not least, (don't mock me guys) is The Hobbit (2012). I watched it FINALLY two years later, but I did. I never had the time to sit down and watch it, because I was not open to many other film genres, but now I am! Thank god for adulthood. I mean I never had an adoring feeling to sci-fi films, up until now and The Hobbit is just too beautiful. I fell in love with the reknowned characters, as well as I had a refreshing memory of the Lord of the Rings, because it's been so long since I watched the first trilogy. Tonight I will see the second part called Desolation of Smaug and I can't wait. I fell in love with the scenery of this film, Bilbo's humor and bravery, because who doesn't love Martin Freeman and of course, having Gandalf as your adventure buddy is a blast. So you have to watch this film if you hadn't, take my advice lol, Anyway if you want a detailed review, just write in the comments and see you later lovelies! Until the next post!

Begin Again & St. Vincent film reviews!

Hello lovelies and here are my two new favorite films I've watched recently!
Firstly, Begin Again is a film starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine (lead singer from the band, Maroon 5) and Hailee Steinfield.
It has become one of my favorite films of the year, because even if the plot is original and you can't take your eyes off of the amazing New York scenery, the soundtrack is the one that got me hooked. Obviously we got Adam Levine's flawless voice and presence in the movie, so the songs are breathtaking and heartfelt. Knightley is the main character and she had singing lessons for the role! They really paid off and I think she was incredible. It's not a romantic film, it's a life lesson kind of movie and it makes you feel so great. It's a movie that shows that you can start over and find yourself in life, in the strangest and unique way. The music is also the main character that tells the story of the characters, Ruffalo's and Knightley's chemistry in the movie is so intense, that it really makes the movie magical. The so ever amazing New York city, music and enchanting lead actors are the elements that will make you love it. Enjoy!

St. Vincent

Such a well made film. I CRIED MY EYES OUT, LITERALLY. Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts and Jaeden Lieberher. The relation between Oliver and Vincent is the bromance of the year. Their relationship had my heart. I couldn't get enough of the scenes they shared and how their bond grew stronger. I don't want to give away so much, because I don't really want to spoil the movie so much for you, but my favorite scene was Oliver's school presentation about Vincent and the way he got to show everybody who he really was. That got me crying like an idiot. Also, who doesn't love Bill Murray? You will enjoy every one-liner he has and laugh so much, thanks to his character. Please do watch whenever you can, because I loved it and it's definitely a top favorite for me.

Thank you lovelies, and until the next post!

Film Review: Gone Girl

Hello lovelies, I'm back with Gone Girl's review, because it is a movie I just can't still believe exists and I'm so sorry I haven't read the book. I just need to. Before you continue reading, I need to warn you that this post will have a lot of spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie, you need to comeback when you do. I'll just tell you guys, that this is a movie you should watch if you're in the mood for mystery, thriller, suspense and hopefully not having a heart attack. I'll continue with my mini analysis now.

This movie contained a lot of things I just want to point out, because it is impossible not to talk about:

Media circus: the movie criticized the media on television and on the internet and how we are easily manipulated by it. We can easily judge the cover of a story without not actually knowing the facts of what really happened. Control and manipulation were key in the movie and Fincher treated it with such power, he literally worked with these concepts and portrayed on the media as well with Amy's version of the story. How well we were easily driven with the first part of the movie blaming Nick (Ben Affleck) for the evidence pointed at him; it was perfect, because we judged alongside with the police and the media. As soon as we discovered Amy's revenge and well made plan, we were so thrown off, because yes, it was a possibility, but her ideas were so easily executed and she actually achieved what she wanted; it was the most overwhelming of all.

Feminism or Misogyny: my best friend pointed out that the movie obviously worked with the debate, whether the movie took control over the idea of feminism, where Amy wanted justice, where she wanted to be the hero of the story. When she said, "I killed for you, who else could say this to you?", she wanted to rise as a powerful woman and not be stepped on. She refused to be the victim and be the hero of her own messed up plan. She wanted to keep her marriage alive and she literally took control of every step, she never surrendered and never wanted to be a quitter.

Criticism of present society: HOW EASILY WE CAN BE FOOLED. WOW. HOW I MEAN LIKE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BELIEVE IN THE TRUTH, HOW DOES TRUTH EXISTS? DOES IT EXIST? The movie left me so overwhelmed, I still can't sink it in. We could even feel Nick's feelings, we were always with him, every step of the way, figuring out Amy's plan, she was always a step ahead. I just wanted the space to release all the beautiful and psycho of this movie.

Music: The score of the film was so on point, it really captured the atmosphere of the scenes and Amy's posture, Nick's fear, the music just literally made you feel the already suspense that the plot presented. I'm still in awe.

Direction: the angles were just insanely good, they reminded me of the Girl of the Dragon Tattoo. My favorite scenes were Amy committing homicide in the lake house, also her fake rape scene, where she wanted to capture the cameras on the lake house and she went full on portraying the fake process of the plan. And obviously the whole movie to be honest, I truly wish you have the opportunity to watch the film.

Until the next post lovelies.

September's favorites! (One week later, but it's here)

Hello lovelies! I finally got around to make a favorites' post and now it's here.
It took me like a week to make this post, *facepalm* but I made time! So as you know I like to divide my favorite areas and tell you about what I've been in love with the past month!

Artist I've loved this month (maybe since summer, but now even more!):
Sam Smith!
His voice is just divine and I cannot get enough of his album, I'm truly obsessed with it.
My favorite songs are Make it To Me, Latch, Stay With Me, I'm not the Only One & La la la. In the Lonely Hour is freaking amazing and you should check it out!

Movie I finally watched and loved:

Beginners
Starring Ewan McGregor, Melanie Laurent and Christopher Plummer

Thanks to Netflix, I made time to watch this movie I've been dying to see from a long time now, but I sometimes can't put the effort to find the movie online or simply buy it, but I'm so eternally grateful that Netflix uploaded it this past month, I think. The story/plot of the movie is about this man called Oliver who discovers that his father is gay and later on, he dies. Oliver can't seem to shake off his grief over the months after he's been literally shutting down every opportunity to come back to society, up until he finally goes to a party and meets Anna. It is a romantic, independent movie which has a pinch of comedy and it just simply pulls your heartstrings. I adored the movie so much, it is up in my favorites of all time. I give the movie a solid 8/10.

Now up to beauty products:
Maybelline's Precise Eyeliner and Essie's Nail Polish called Strut Your Stuff & Lilacism.
As you can see, the pastel lilac one is called Lilacism and it looks so lovely and delicate on my nails, I should have also added a picture with my nails and the color, but it is so pretty, my mom is currently wearing it on her nails. Strut Your Stuff is the blue vibrant one, it is not a very bright blue, yet it is toned down, but it is a very pretty royal blue color.

Now for the eye liner, a lot of my friends and acquaintances have been asking me about which eyeliner I've been using, because my cat-liner looks so on point, most of you guys have been dying to see which one I've been using. As you see in the picture below, it is like a pen and it is so thin, it definitely helps mark the line that you want, or the thickness of the amount of liner you want on your eye. I looove it, I give it a solid 10. I bought it on a drugstore at $7, very cheap and perfect for an everyday makeup or evening, special occasions look too.

Thank you lovelies and look forward for my next post!

Guardians of the Galaxy, non-spoiler review!

Hello darlings and today I'll just let you know how much I enjoyed the new marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy starring Chris Pratt, Zoë Saldana, Dave Batista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. The most anticipated movie of the summer exceeded my expectations, and to be quite honest, it IS THE summer movie favorite. Loved each character of the amazing outlaws, and the actors have a fantastic chemistry that you can't stop smiling about and laughing of course during the whole movie. The plot is of course saving the galaxy, but the way they did it is the thing that will have you hooked. Please do yourself a favor and watch this A+ movie. NOW. Until the next post lovelies!

Jane Austen & Other Period Adaptations: Movies & TV.

Hello to all of you, lovely readers and I've been planning to write this post dedicated to Jane Austen movies and period movies & series I've watched like a marathon since last weekend. I've been a fan of Jane Austen since I was in high school and I can truly say that even if she was from the 19th century, she knew what romance and love meant. Her novels are an inspiration to me.
My favorite books from Jane Austen are Emma and Pride & Prejudice, world wide known stories that have been adapted many times on TV and on the big screen. Here's a list of adaptations I've seen this week and I've absolutely fell in love! Others I've seen before and I'll let you know through the list.

Emma (2009): a mini-series adaptation of the novel Emma with four episodes; first time watching it, beautiful and the cast is amazing. If you watch British TV, you could recognize Jonny Miller as Mr. Knightley, Blake Ritson as Mr. Elton (which also starred in Mansfield Park as Edmund Bertram) and Rimola Garai as Emma Woodhouse. Emma is about this rich and beautiful girl called Emma Woodhouse who loves to be a matchmaker and befriends a girl named Harriet whom she wants to set up with Mr. Elton and we get to see the consequences about this adventure. Mr. Knightley is her brother in law who is also a very dear friend to her and how their growing care for each other transforms into something deep and more beautiful.

Emma (1996): the only difference is the cast and since it's a movie adaptation from the big screen and some details aren't shown on the movie like the BBC adaptation, but a really good performance by Gwyneth Paltrow and Jeremy Northam as our Mr. Knightley and Emma Woodhouse. I've watched it three times and I'm in love with it, one of my favorite movies.

Northanger Abbey (2007): TV movie adaptation of Austen's Northanger Abbey, which I haven't read... yet. Starring JJ Feild (one of my current British actor crushes) and Felicity Jones (love her face she's pretty! from Like Crazy) as Catherine Morlan & Henry Tinsley. Catherine is a big fan of books, specially mystery ones, and she lives in her imagination so when she meets Tinsley, she's intrigued about his late mother's true story behind her death and obviously the story of true love.

Sense & Sensibility (1995): Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman star in this masterpiece and I truly will let the trailer speak for itself, because I have no words for how magnificent this adaptation of these sisters and their lives and how love has affected them in ways we can relate to.

Until next post lovelies, there will be a second part for this post SOON!

Movie Reviews: Under The Skin & Austenland + TV Shows recs!

Hello, no time no see or write to you guys, I'm here to let you know about the latest movies I've watched and the series I've been loving lately!
First, almost a week ago I went to Fine Arts (cinema) with one of my closest friends to watch Under The Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson. I truly had no idea what the movie was about, but since ScarJo was in it, I guess it would be a good one. The beginning of the movie was literally the formation of an eye, of a human eye, as if we were seeing the process of a human being created, later some beautiful and random sequences happened, the weird thing was that there was little dialogue and script, literally the movie's visuals were the one telling the story and trying to decipher why this story is happening. It was a bit frustrating to learn about what was ScarJo's character, we do know she's an alien using a human's skin to do their alien mission, but why? And to what purpose? The plot of the movie wasn't that deep and profound enough. This movie is literally filled with beautiful sceneries of Scotland, but unfortunately, that is what I only liked about this movie. It's frustrating, but at the same time you like how Scarlett Johansson is acting, and you are invested in finding out why and how, and also that at the end, she's running away to live among the humans, even though it's hard, but sadly it didn't enchant me. Here's the trailer if one day you consider watching it: 3/5 stars.

Since that same Sunday, I was a bit weird with my mood because of Under The Skin, I decided to watch a movie called Austenland and I was hoping it didn't ruin the essence of my favorite writer, Jane Austen. I've watched a few of the modern adaptation of the novels, which I truly love, and this movie in particular directed by Stephenie Meyer, yes the Twilight Saga writer, is about this woman who lives and breathes Jane Austen's works and related, and she decided one day to go to London to a place who literally bring that part of history back to life and actors who play their parts to honor Austen's works. Jane, the protagonist of the story, is definitely ecstatic about it, but some things don't go the way she wants, until she takes charge of her story. It's really entertaining and if you like period stories, you'll love this one, because since it's a mixture of the past and the present, you'll watch some funny stuff along the movie. I loved it and here's the trailer (also love JJ Feild).

Now for TV, I've been watching a couple of series which I will make bullets for now and talk a bit about not giving much away:
  • Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: If you love Marvel's movies, you'll adore this series, you have more insight in what SHIELD is all about and you get to see how Coulson is brought back from the dead, and meet some new agents and their different mission. Villains and heroes and if you are one big geek like I am, you'll adore it.
  • Orange is the New Black: guys, this series is a whole new level of genius, you're literally seeing how women could be inside prison and we see it through Piper Chapman's eyes. Every episode is gold and it is definitely a must see.
  • Parks and Recreation: I've been watching Parks and Recreation since two years ago, but I recently finished season 5 and started 6 and if you love comedy, and Amy Poehler, this is your show.
  • Arrested Development: Since now, you must know there is a pattern here, and I like comedy so much, so this series was hard to resist, I just started it, and I like it. It's Will Arnett and Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, so hard to not watch this on Netflix.
  • Orphan Black: I just finished and watched live the season 2 finale and if you're interested in clones and different sides of a woman, this is your show. Also Tatiana Maslany will have so much Oscar nominations in the future, that woman is incredible and her acting is excellent, out of this world.
So those are my mini-reviews for the TV shows I'm currently watching if you want me to specify on something, you can write below in the comments! Thank youuuu!
Until next time, lovelies.

Film Review: The Fault in Our Stars! New favorite film!

Hi lovelies, and I'm here to let you know how much I loved The Fault in Our Stars, I'm still not over how much I loved the movie. I can't control myself. I'm already planning on buying everything related to it, because it literally stole my heart. I went yesterday to watch the film with two of my dearest and childhood friends whom I missed a lot and we finally got the time to hang out and catch up! Shout out, to you ladies! Well, I need to confess you something: I couldn't read the book, because I don't own it yet, I'm a bit disappointed in myself, but oh, well, I'll read it in summer since I want to know the full story. I still knew what the movie was about and I was not ready to cry, I mean maybe a bit, since I know the cast in the movie are great actors, and of course, I would expect to have scenes where I could not control myself.

Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort were just extraordinary. They have this chemistry like no other, and they truly worked it out incredibly. These two teenagers who struggle with different types of cancer fall in love and make the best of it. Since I didn't read the book, and maybe if I did, I would be more picky with the memorable quotes, but I noticed there were some special quotes that totally impacted me and that I'm sure I'll be able to spot them in the book. Augustus Waters is my new ideal man. He who made Hazel's life have a meaning, he gave her a new everlasting happiness in the brief time they spent together. All of their scenes in their trip to Amsterdam were flawless. I just don't want to give away too much. But guys, this movie is not completely sad, it's about life, it's about enjoying it without fears, to not be afraid of love and/or life or death. To fall in love and not be afraid of letting go. To love beyond time, and that death shouldn't scare you. It brought really good emotions in me and I think everyone should watch even though they'll spend half of the movie shedding tears. You won't regret it. I'll save some money to buy the soundtrack, which is another level, songs by M83, Kodaline, Charli XCX, Tom Odell and many more, and I promise I'll also buy the book, which I've always wanted to read but hadn't had the time until now. GO WATCH THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, PLEASE! FANTASTIC JOHN GREEN!

Here is the trailer, lovelies, until next time!

Film Review: Maleficent!

Hello, there lovelies!
I went today to the movies with my brothers and decided to go watch Disney's Maleficent.

Before the movie, there were trailers for Cinderella that will come in 2015 and Big Hero 6 in Fall. I'm pretty excited for both since I'm a huge fan of Disney movies. Now, going back to Maleficent, I was not ready for it at all, I had all these questions in my head, Would it have a plot twist? Will it be similar to the concept of Snow White and the Huntsman? Would it follow the Disney's classic, Sleeping Beauty story? I wasn't ready. Before the movie, I read a post in Tumblr, that the movie's plot had a similar dynamic from Frozen, in where true love not necessarily comes from a love between man and woman, but of family and friendship. I won't try to give away too much, but caution: spoilers ahead.

  • Angelina Jolie as Maleficent was the best thing that could ever happen, without her, the movie wouldn't have been the same. We all know how impressive and strong is Angelina Jolie's presence in a role for any film, because of her talent. In the movie, we see this fairy who protects the creature of where she's from and how innocent and naïve she was as a child. From hero to villain, it was a great transition, but also we do see how vulnerable Maleficent really is. A woman who has been hurt and blames others for her tragedy, but we also see that it wasn't her fault.
  • In the movie, Maleficent also becomes a motherly-figure to Aurora (Elle Fanning) who even though she was keeping an eye, because she is the most important thing to the person who hurt her in the past, she grows fond of Aurora and helps her, to the point of regretting everything she's done. This in particular reminded me of Brave's story arc of the importance of a mother-daughter's love. It had that beautiful element.
  • Frozen's story arc of sisterly love was definitely seen in this movie, where Maleficent being a mother (fairygodmother) figure to Aurora, we see that true love was definitely bound to be between the two, and I loved that it doesn't necessarily come from a man, and that even though Phillip was in the movie, as he himself said: "He only has known her for a day." Love has to be earned and acquired because of effort and great patience, be there for the other person, unlike the classic movie, we see a bit of real in the movie, and what Aurora wanted was to belong, and she found a home in Maleficent.
  • Maleficent had WINGS. She loses them, and that killed me. How awesome to see a hero fall and then rise again because she wants to fix her wrongs.
  • The colors in this movie, the forest scenes, the creatures, the special effects were really pretty and literally magic.
  • Overall, I liked it a lot, and you should watch too!
Here is the trailer!

and Cinderella's Teaser!

Until the next post loveliesssss, (now I'm going to have a mini-Disney movie marathon!)

Film review: X-Men: Days of Future Past! Spoilers!

Even if you don't believe me, this film review has been requested by many of you and that makes me ecstatic and everything happy-adjectives related...
I'm like a week late, but here it is! X-Men: Days of Future Past review!

I went to see it last Sunday, and I was not expecting anything, I had my mind clear, without any hopes up and just went it to soak it all in, of course I have heard and read that the movie had exceeded a lot and I was like excited, but not like piling up all my thoughts on it.
Here I go: (a mini list of course and again, since I don't read the comics, I'll mostly write about my favorite scenes and/or geek out because of the effects and acting.) Also, SPOILERS AHEAD.
  • The acting: this cast, people, this cast is pure perfection. Come on, Mystique's decision was the one who changed the X-Men's fate and who better to play that role that the fantastic Jennifer Lawrence. Unlike her acting in First Class, which she didn't shine that much, in Days of Future Past, she went to infinity and beyond. I love Hugh Jackman, he's the best Wolverine and the only one that should exist and his dynamic with young Charles Xavier and Erik (Magneto) was tremendous. McAvoy, Fassy and Jackman should do more movies together. Peter Dinklage, enough said. Nicholas Holt (Beast) such a cutie and his endless love for Mystique makes me cry every time. Finally, James Mcavoy and Patrick Stewart's scene just killed me. Perfect motivation for a perfect plot and it made an amazing film.
  • Favorite scenes: I loved the whole movie. Totally difficult for me to write about the whole movie don't you think, but here's a few that stood out:
    • Quicksilver rescuing Magneto: YAS, can we have more Quicksilver in the future?
    • Beast, Xavier, Wolverine meeting Quicksilver: yeah again, lol.
    • Obviously, the future war and the past's feud in where Magneto lifted the baseball park and used the Sentinels to declare war on humans. LOVED THE TENSION and the future/past transition.
    • Loved the many times Xavier was on Mystique's head and she didn't want to be convinced to not kill Trask...
    • And when Mystique shot Magneto. Yup.
  • Finally, you have to see this newest Marvel masterpiece, made it short to prevent any more spoilers lol, but enjoy!
Here is the trailer and comment whatever you feel, if you saw the movie already! Give me your opinions! Write to you later, lovelies!

Movie Rec: The Royal Tenenbaums + Non-Stop!

Bonjour to you all my dear readers!
Here is my movie recs of the last two weeks, I've been busy of course, I'm a college student and I wish I could spend my days watching movies and writing about them so you can enjoy them as much as I do, or even more!

One week ago, I finally found a link to watch The Royal Tenenbaums. It all started when I went to Best Buy to find movies, and I was thinking of buying at the moment one, because let's face it, I'm low in the budget, but I went and walked through the isles until I spotted Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore DVD's and I was, "Oh, I haven't seen these? WHY?" I saw the price, and I almost had a heart attack, because they were each $30.00 and in Blu-ray, and of course, I was so sad, in the end, I didn't buy anything. Obviously, I picked up my Surface and found a link to watch The Royal Tenenbaums; I've seen Moonrise Kingdom, so I really liked Wes Anderson's work already, (THIS MOVIE IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, PLEASE DO.)

The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Gene Hackman, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson and Anjelica Houston, and it's about this unique family, where its composed of the parents Ethelene and Royal with their three children, Margot, Richie and Chas, who are practically geniuses and come together after their father (Royal) announces he has a terminal illness. I practically fell in love with everything this movie presented, because Wes Anderson's movies have this sort of unique feel, at least with the ones I've seen, STILL need to watch Rushmore, but generally his movies have a really vintage, heart-warming and romantic feel that you can't just shake of, you practically feel so attached to the intrigue in the film, you root for whatever is happening in each scene. This movie in particular is heart-warming, funny, the photography (just like in all of his films) are truly amazing and mouth-opening, because it is a pretty film. My favorite character is Margot Tenenbaum, because she's this cool chick, who every girl wants to be, making her own rules, free-spirited and independent, she of course, feels a bit empty, but through the movie, she knows what she's been missing and it was right under her nose. I'm trying not to spoil anything, but I also love Richie, A LOT, (young Luke Wilson is one of my never-ending crushes), but trust me, you'll adore this family's adventures, so hope you enjoy it! Also, forgot to mention, that Bill Murray always is in his films, and if you didn't know much about him, or you really don't like him that much, trust me that you'll love his roles in Anderson's movies, because he's simply a genius actor.

This year, there will be a new Wes Anderson called The Grand Budapest Hotel starring Ralph Fiennes, Saoirse Ronan and much more, and it is filled with adventures, I'm so excited to watch it already so here's the trailer:

Yesterday, I went to the cinema and I really wanted to see The Wind Rises, but I couldn't because my nearby movie theater didn't brought it, so I was like "What now?" so I noticed that Non-Stop was and its cast, and a movie starring Liam Neeson is bound to be likeable, because come on! This man! It also starred Julianne Moore, Michelle Dockery (from Downton Abbey), Lupita Nyong'o (12 Years A Slave, not a big role, but still). It is a suspense-thriller where Bill Marks receives various death threats via text messages putting in danger the lives of 150 passengers in a plane from New York to London. The movie reminded me of the suspense the movie Argo had, my brothers, a close friend and I were at the edge of the seat with our mouths opened at every scene and every revelation the movie throwed at us, truly taking us by surprise each minute. I didn't think I would like it a lot, but I did, I think I like those movies who really put us at a tension and then at the end, it was all worth it suffering for the characters. So here I'll leave you the trailer for you to decide to go to the cinema, and have it on consideration!

Comment below if you enjoyed the post and recommend me more movies to watch and recommend to others! Until the next post lovelies!

Movie and Series Line-up: The Croods + Arrow, plus new Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer.

Last Sunday, I opened up the Netflix app on my Surface and finally decided to sit down and watch The Croods. If you are a big cinephile or film junkie/fan or whatever you may call yourself, you know that this film is nominated for the Oscars for Best Animated Film of the Year along with Frozen, Despicable Me 2, The Wind Rises and Ernest & Celestine. To be quite honest, I was so excited to see this film, because of many reasons. 1) It is nominated for an Oscar 2) It's a DreamWorks film (How To Train Your Dragon, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, etc.) 3) Many good reviews 4) Pretty good cast.
GUYS... This movie made me cry from the beginning to the end. I'm not the crier type, but this movie was so wonderful, from its scenarios, to its quotes, and the father-daughter relationship was so strong, I mean it is just so touching I couldn't handle it. The romance with Guy and Eep was so mature and so sweet even though they were Cavemen in the time where the Earth was still forming itself. There were so many scenes I could discuss and babble on about.
1) Loved the father-daughter relationship: Eep and Grugg were so alike, I totally identify myself with her and my dad, lol. I guess that is why I cried a lot.
2) Grugg vs. Guy: how he became jealous of this more developed human being and wanted to have ideas for survival aside from being afraid and living in the darkness.
3) The concepts of light and darkness: How Guy and Eep were obsessed of capturing the sun. How he brought his torch and Eep was fascinated by it. I loved how they always longed for tomorrow.
4) Family and love: these two important concepts in our lives were so nicely portrayed here, how family and love can actually strengthen your soul to keep motivating you, to survive this harsh world.
5) Comedy genius: There were so many moments were I literally cried of laughter, because the quotes guys, you can check some tweets here, where I totally quote the movie.
I totally recommend this movie for you to see whenever you need a good laugh, a good heartfelt movie, and yes, I totally think this one deserves an Oscar nomination (even the Oscar itself). You already know it's on Netflix, and if you don't have an account, you can just buy the DVD on a near film store or watch it online on another site, or order it online, right? Nothing wrong with that.
Here's the trailer:

Now, about Arrow

If you don't know what Arrow is... it is a CW series based on the DC comics superhero called Green Arrow and his story. Wow, great description, right? Lol.

Anyway, I totally enjoy this show, because 1) I love superheroes 2) My best friend got me into it AND 3) My best friend got me into it. HAHAHA. I totally blame him for this, but yes. If you love superheroes, then you should totally watch this show, it will tear you to pieces. I say it isn't a masterpiece, but it is really a good series, so if you're into action and explosions and shooting arrows then this is the show for you. I am updated with it and I truly thank my friend for hooking me up with it. I'm talking about it, because my closest friends were totally mad at me, because I didn't watch the  latest episode up until last night, but come on, college sucks up my life. It is on a mini hiatus right now until February 26, because of the Winter Olympics, but only one more week to suffer guys. It is currently on the half of the second season, so if you want to check it out, the complete first season is on Netflix, and some recent episodes are on CW.com.

I really want the 26th to be here already. They need to do some explaining of the last episode. So I won't spoil anything, but here is a general trailer about the series:

I'll do a more in-depth post of my feelings toward the series, because this was merely a presentation for those of you who didn't know about Arrow, so always check my blog for more awesome recommendations.

I'm also including in this post the new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, that Jimmy Kimmel presented last night in his tonight show and since I am a Marvel movies' fan, well I did have some expectations, but watch it and you can leave comments about what do you think of it. I still am going to see it when it comes to the movie theatres, but um, I don't know, I need another trailer to make up my mind.

Xoxo, Rachel.

Movie review: Endless Love (No spoilers, I promise).

I went out with one of my closest friends to watch Endless Love, and I was really scared about the outcome of us watching it. Even my mom warned me about Franco Zeffirelli's movie of the same name, which had a tragic ending, and I really hate romantic movies with a sad plot. The only thing I had in my mind was "Please don't be a movie I would regret watching." The only person I knew and that I loved about the movie was Alex Pettyfer. I knew a bit of his romantic side, because I've seen Beastly and I've also read the book of the same name, which I REALLY recommend, because it is sooooo good. The rest of the cast is totally new people I've seen for the first time, but they were good and they really complemented each other. Even though it is a movie full of clichés, guys FULL OF CLICHÉS, I really liked it. It surprised me, because I really hate those generic movies Hollywood makes for the sake of the holiday, which you know we are in February so couple love would be the important element during this time. There were a lot of favorite things among these: some shots of different scenes like the airport, the zoo scene and the last scene, which I won't spoil I promise for those of you who haven't seen it. THE SOUNDTRACK: it is lovely, I think I'll download it soon, because I liked a lot of songs featured in it and later I'll make a review of it. There's some element of surprise in the movie that will leave your mouth open for a while, but apart from that you won't regret spending your money in the cinema. In conclusion, if you're looking for another good romantic movie to watch, here's a good one to add on your list.
