2014 favorites!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hello my lovely readers, so I decided to make a 2014 favorites' blog post in where I will show you from makeup, movies, tv series, books to music that I enjoyed during the past year! I was inspired by some bloggers and youtubers to make this. Just keep reading ahead.

Let's start with beauty and makeup!

All the beauty products I use:

 • Concealer from Benefit
 • Foundation - Sephora
 • Powder - Sephora
 • Eyeliner (Black) - Maybelline's Master Precise
 • Mascara (both black) - Maybelline's The Falsies & The Colossal
 • Lipsticks (favorites explained below) from MAC, Rimmel London's Kate Moss' collection
 • BB Cream - Benefit
 • Facial Radiance Polish - Benefit

Favorite lipsticks of the year!

First off, I bought it recently, that means last week, but it made it to the 2014 favorites, because I bought it and used it last year! It's MAC's Pink Nouveau. The shade is matte, and it's vibrant, but not too much. It's a very casual colour and it's definitely my top favorite right now. Also it's my first MAC lipstick! Here's for this year to many new ones!

Kate Moss' Collection from Rimmel London

I really love matte lipsticks, as you may notice, and these two are just gorgeous colours. The first below in the picture is #06. It's like a really colorful fuschia color. Really strong, but so bright and vibrant. I'm in love with it. The second one is the one I mostly used during fall, which is the #01, a dark red shade, not quite like a wine colour, but a dark red and it's lovely! It's my main lipstick everywhere I go.

Maybelline's 905 in the shade called Brazen Berry. My mom bought this for me early this year and I fell in love with the really vivid purple colour. I love it. Everytime I go out is really hard to choose between this one and every other lipstick I own, because it's an all time favorite also during the year.

Favorite nail polish!

Every colour here are the ones I've been using the whole year for the majority of the time and I'm probably going to wear them for the rest of my life on my nails. My absolute favorites from all time.

1. Rimmel London's Red Award (wine colour, dark red)
2. Essie's Bahama Mama (a dark purple)
3. Essie's Strut Your Stuff (very vibrant royal blue)
4. Tuck it in my tux (not a matte white, really glossy creamy white)

Eye makeup!
I usually get compliments with how well my eyes are done so here are the eye liner and mascara I use:

Really easy to use eye liner! 100% perfection.

I also bought a new concealer from Benefit which definitely makes the job. It's fantastic, it's glimmery and it covers my dark circles perfectly. It's a flawless concealer seriously.

Random and fun things I love!

I've mentioned before that I started reading comics during the year and I bought this issue like three months ago. So I highly recommend Black Widow and the Hawkeye issues because they have such pretty artwork as really compelling stories. You can catch up with these superheroes and what they have been up to. Need to read more actually so I'll be up to date soon.

I read Divergent and finished it before the movie came out in March, right on time to watch the film in the cinema, so I basically had so much feels about FourTris and every horrible thing or sad, or just plain scarring. And that made me enjoy the film more, so I highly recommend Divergent. I started reading Insurgent, so I NEED to finish it soon also.

Oh Arrow, you literally own my soul. I bought the season like two weeks ago. But I'm updated with the series and 2014 was definitely the greatest for the show and it obviously needs some more love (maybe for forever) so if you haven't seen the show please do. You won't regret it. It's just insanely well written, entertaining superhero work.

I've always wanted a Nylon subscription, and I will finally have it soon this year, but in 2014 I bought my first two issues and I'm probably biased, but whatever I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE. It's the greatest ever. I love it.

Soon I'll post my favorite albums (music) in another blog post, so until the next post lovelies!

Film starter pack for 2015!

Happy New Year lovelies! My first 2015 post in the first day of this promising new year. You know what a new year means right?
Award season and NEW MOVIES. I really can't wait for new movies to come out and for me to live in the cinema for a while.

So before the year ended, I watched a couple of movies that really clicked with me and that you have to check out if you hadn't.

First it's an indie film that Netflix is currently streaming. It's called In Your Eyes (2014) starring Zoe Kazan, you may know her from Ruby Sparks (2012), she is definitely the queen of indie romantic films. I adore independent films, because they have these experimental elements and unique plots that may or not charm you. You either love or hate these types of films. In this case, the movie, written by Joss Whedon had a unique plot and it's enchanting really. The two lovers have a telepathic power which they can see each other and feel what the other feels the instant they click. I loved it and I feel that's a movie that you can sit on your couch, pop some popcorn and go along with the unique romantic relationship that you'll adore.

Another Zoe Kazan movie I watched recently was the one she starred along Daniel Radcliffe and Adam Driver called What If (2014). I liked it a lot. It's your typical, young adult movie which the girl has a boyfriend, and the main love interest has no other option, but just to stay friends with his crush. The story just takes you to the insights of these adorable relationships and friendships. Also a stay-in your house movie that you can enjoy with friends or yourself. I enjoyed Radcliffe's humor so much, I mean he's just a comedic genius. I'd love to see him in more romcoms, please @god.

Last, but not least, (don't mock me guys) is The Hobbit (2012). I watched it FINALLY two years later, but I did. I never had the time to sit down and watch it, because I was not open to many other film genres, but now I am! Thank god for adulthood. I mean I never had an adoring feeling to sci-fi films, up until now and The Hobbit is just too beautiful. I fell in love with the reknowned characters, as well as I had a refreshing memory of the Lord of the Rings, because it's been so long since I watched the first trilogy. Tonight I will see the second part called Desolation of Smaug and I can't wait. I fell in love with the scenery of this film, Bilbo's humor and bravery, because who doesn't love Martin Freeman and of course, having Gandalf as your adventure buddy is a blast. So you have to watch this film if you hadn't, take my advice lol, Anyway if you want a detailed review, just write in the comments and see you later lovelies! Until the next post!

Begin Again & St. Vincent film reviews!

Hello lovelies and here are my two new favorite films I've watched recently!
Firstly, Begin Again is a film starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine (lead singer from the band, Maroon 5) and Hailee Steinfield.
It has become one of my favorite films of the year, because even if the plot is original and you can't take your eyes off of the amazing New York scenery, the soundtrack is the one that got me hooked. Obviously we got Adam Levine's flawless voice and presence in the movie, so the songs are breathtaking and heartfelt. Knightley is the main character and she had singing lessons for the role! They really paid off and I think she was incredible. It's not a romantic film, it's a life lesson kind of movie and it makes you feel so great. It's a movie that shows that you can start over and find yourself in life, in the strangest and unique way. The music is also the main character that tells the story of the characters, Ruffalo's and Knightley's chemistry in the movie is so intense, that it really makes the movie magical. The so ever amazing New York city, music and enchanting lead actors are the elements that will make you love it. Enjoy!

St. Vincent

Such a well made film. I CRIED MY EYES OUT, LITERALLY. Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts and Jaeden Lieberher. The relation between Oliver and Vincent is the bromance of the year. Their relationship had my heart. I couldn't get enough of the scenes they shared and how their bond grew stronger. I don't want to give away so much, because I don't really want to spoil the movie so much for you, but my favorite scene was Oliver's school presentation about Vincent and the way he got to show everybody who he really was. That got me crying like an idiot. Also, who doesn't love Bill Murray? You will enjoy every one-liner he has and laugh so much, thanks to his character. Please do watch whenever you can, because I loved it and it's definitely a top favorite for me.

Thank you lovelies, and until the next post!

What I've been loving in music lately!

Hello guys, so I'm back and I have a lot of music recommendations for you to definitely put on your playlists!

First off, Calvin Harris's new album, Motion. For those of you who like electronic music or those who are looking for new artists to listen to, this album should definitely be yours to consider. I'm hooked and I haven't stopped listening to it, ever since it came out. It includes the popular "Summer" and "Under Control" tracks, but songs like "Blame", "Outside" with Ellie Goulding, "Love Now" and "Dollar Signs" are ones you won't stop dancing to.

Also, and it should be on top of your list, Taylor Swift's 1989!

I finally was able to listen to the whole album today and I fell in love with it right away. I can't choose one song that I love the most, because the truth is I love every single one of them.

I'm addicted to both of these albums, so enjoy the rest of the night listening to them, you won't regret it!

Until the next post, lovelies!

Currently reading: Marvel Comics!

Hey lovelies, so I'm in midterms and a lot of uni work has been thrown at my face. I've had some frustrated days and really stressful moments, but during the breaks I take from studying or works to write, I'm enjoying reading some comics. I'm a beginner and I don't know much, certainly didn't know where to begin, so thanks to a master post of a lot of links from a Bucky Natasha shipmate on tumblr, she posted some hyperlinks with comics that only had scenes with Bucky and Natasha, and below all that, she also posted the first 8 Black Widow issues from the most recent Black Widow comics (2014) and I fell instantly in love. Check them out here and all the issues they have up until now.

I took a break from these and also began to read Hawkeye. Oh, wow. I'm so in love with the comics, I love the dynamic he has with everyone, Kate Bishop, the pizza dog, his ex-wife, Bobbi and the dynamic with the storytelling. It goes back and forth and it really keeps me entertained. I'm currently in issue #16 and I can't wait to continue reading. Check the issues.

So here's my latest update, will try to write/post something for Halloween and my costume, because I can't make up my mind just yet! Enjoy! Until the next post lovelies!

Becoming a vlogger as a hobby!

Hey guys! This is a special post, because I'm here to tell you that I'm making Youtube videos also! I may enjoy talking to a camera and posting those TV or movie reviews there for you to enjoy and to also comment about it in Youtube, Twitter or Facebook in the blog's page that you can like here!

I have reviewed Arrow up until now and I may do it for other series whenever I can, because uni isn't a place where time is easy to distribute, so Youtube is easier to record, talk, upload and voilĂ ! If you want me to record anything in specific, leave comments below here and in the video on Youtube! Here are my vlogs, enjoy and happy weekend! Until the next post lovelies!~

Film Review: Gone Girl

Hello lovelies, I'm back with Gone Girl's review, because it is a movie I just can't still believe exists and I'm so sorry I haven't read the book. I just need to. Before you continue reading, I need to warn you that this post will have a lot of spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie, you need to comeback when you do. I'll just tell you guys, that this is a movie you should watch if you're in the mood for mystery, thriller, suspense and hopefully not having a heart attack. I'll continue with my mini analysis now.

This movie contained a lot of things I just want to point out, because it is impossible not to talk about:

Media circus: the movie criticized the media on television and on the internet and how we are easily manipulated by it. We can easily judge the cover of a story without not actually knowing the facts of what really happened. Control and manipulation were key in the movie and Fincher treated it with such power, he literally worked with these concepts and portrayed on the media as well with Amy's version of the story. How well we were easily driven with the first part of the movie blaming Nick (Ben Affleck) for the evidence pointed at him; it was perfect, because we judged alongside with the police and the media. As soon as we discovered Amy's revenge and well made plan, we were so thrown off, because yes, it was a possibility, but her ideas were so easily executed and she actually achieved what she wanted; it was the most overwhelming of all.

Feminism or Misogyny: my best friend pointed out that the movie obviously worked with the debate, whether the movie took control over the idea of feminism, where Amy wanted justice, where she wanted to be the hero of the story. When she said, "I killed for you, who else could say this to you?", she wanted to rise as a powerful woman and not be stepped on. She refused to be the victim and be the hero of her own messed up plan. She wanted to keep her marriage alive and she literally took control of every step, she never surrendered and never wanted to be a quitter.

Criticism of present society: HOW EASILY WE CAN BE FOOLED. WOW. HOW I MEAN LIKE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BELIEVE IN THE TRUTH, HOW DOES TRUTH EXISTS? DOES IT EXIST? The movie left me so overwhelmed, I still can't sink it in. We could even feel Nick's feelings, we were always with him, every step of the way, figuring out Amy's plan, she was always a step ahead. I just wanted the space to release all the beautiful and psycho of this movie.

Music: The score of the film was so on point, it really captured the atmosphere of the scenes and Amy's posture, Nick's fear, the music just literally made you feel the already suspense that the plot presented. I'm still in awe.

Direction: the angles were just insanely good, they reminded me of the Girl of the Dragon Tattoo. My favorite scenes were Amy committing homicide in the lake house, also her fake rape scene, where she wanted to capture the cameras on the lake house and she went full on portraying the fake process of the plan. And obviously the whole movie to be honest, I truly wish you have the opportunity to watch the film.

Until the next post lovelies.

September's favorites! (One week later, but it's here)

Hello lovelies! I finally got around to make a favorites' post and now it's here.
It took me like a week to make this post, *facepalm* but I made time! So as you know I like to divide my favorite areas and tell you about what I've been in love with the past month!

Artist I've loved this month (maybe since summer, but now even more!):
Sam Smith!
His voice is just divine and I cannot get enough of his album, I'm truly obsessed with it.
My favorite songs are Make it To Me, Latch, Stay With Me, I'm not the Only One & La la la. In the Lonely Hour is freaking amazing and you should check it out!

Movie I finally watched and loved:

Beginners
Starring Ewan McGregor, Melanie Laurent and Christopher Plummer

Thanks to Netflix, I made time to watch this movie I've been dying to see from a long time now, but I sometimes can't put the effort to find the movie online or simply buy it, but I'm so eternally grateful that Netflix uploaded it this past month, I think. The story/plot of the movie is about this man called Oliver who discovers that his father is gay and later on, he dies. Oliver can't seem to shake off his grief over the months after he's been literally shutting down every opportunity to come back to society, up until he finally goes to a party and meets Anna. It is a romantic, independent movie which has a pinch of comedy and it just simply pulls your heartstrings. I adored the movie so much, it is up in my favorites of all time. I give the movie a solid 8/10.

Now up to beauty products:
Maybelline's Precise Eyeliner and Essie's Nail Polish called Strut Your Stuff & Lilacism.
As you can see, the pastel lilac one is called Lilacism and it looks so lovely and delicate on my nails, I should have also added a picture with my nails and the color, but it is so pretty, my mom is currently wearing it on her nails. Strut Your Stuff is the blue vibrant one, it is not a very bright blue, yet it is toned down, but it is a very pretty royal blue color.

Now for the eye liner, a lot of my friends and acquaintances have been asking me about which eyeliner I've been using, because my cat-liner looks so on point, most of you guys have been dying to see which one I've been using. As you see in the picture below, it is like a pen and it is so thin, it definitely helps mark the line that you want, or the thickness of the amount of liner you want on your eye. I looove it, I give it a solid 10. I bought it on a drugstore at $7, very cheap and perfect for an everyday makeup or evening, special occasions look too.

Thank you lovelies and look forward for my next post!

Series I'm currently watching and excited to come back!

Hello guys!
I know I've let you down lately, because I haven't written in a month! *facepalm*
Even my little brother has given me some ideas for me to write and I found some motivation to let you know which shows I'm excited to return to my TV and also tell you which series I've been loving since forever that have kept coming back with amazing ideas and episodes!
First, Doctor Who Series 8.
GUYS.
Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman are such a good team of protagonists and their dynamic in the show is incredibly entertaining. My favorite episodes up until now have been Into the Dalek + Listen. Jenna has been so amazing and her talent just becomes greater and greater by each episode. I like Danny Pink too, guys. He's just so adorably awkward and you just want to pet him. Being Clara Oswin's love interest has been a lovely dynamic to watch between the two! You can catch up with Doctor Who on Netflix, it has the seven series there! Watch the trailer for today's episode, which I'll be watching tonight, Time Heist.

Now, some of you might know that I adore the series Arrow. AND OCTOBER IS RIGH AROUND THE CORNER.

I'm really excited for season 3 to arrive so here's the trailer for the new season. The series is also in Netflix and I strongly recommend it (if you do not watch the show) TO WATCH IT. Also he's a DC comic superhero, it will be worth your while.

Other series I'm looking forward to their new seasons are Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Once Upon A Time that return this upcoming week. I'm still holding on for me not to faint every five minutes. I'm kidding, (nope, not really).

Check them out!

Even though I adore OUAT, I'm a bit worried about how Frozen will be portrayed in the series. By the looks of the teaser, it looks promising. I shall wait with anticipation with the season 4 premiere. Enjoy!

Until the next post, lovelies! I shall come back with some movies I'm eager to watch and I shall write about them for you!
